TOM CALDWELL for SHERIFF

Welcome friends to our campaign website as we kick off my candidacy for Sheriff of Floyd County. I am honored to be running for the Republican nomination and hope you will eagerly support me in the Republican Primary on May 19, 2020.

As the first candidate to announce in this race, we have been subject to attacks from outside the campaign. We plan to run this campaign with integrity, ethics and a focus on the issues. Our campaign will be one of substantive ideas, discussions and community interaction. This is the type of leadership our community wants and deserves.

Since announcing my candidacy in January 2018, we have been out in the community talking with you and listening to your expectations about what you think a sheriff should represent in our community. I am often asked, “why are you running for sheriff?” During my 13-year tenure as Chief Deputy, I have worked hard to bring positive change to the office – ensuring professionalism and transparency. My main focus is to improve public safety for all of the citizens we serve, while also looking out for the needs of the sheriff’s office and its many employees.

As the longest serving Chief Deputy in Floyd County, I have a unique and extensive range of experience in running a law enforcement agency which no other candidate in this race has and we believe the community deserves to benefit from those years of experience. My personal background of genuine community involvement has always been important to me and began decades before I ever decided to run for sheriff. The close relationships I have been fortunate to forge within the community will allow me to make a difference as soon as I am sworn in.

Being a lifelong resident of Rome and Floyd County and a father of two children, I realize the importance of the safety of our community and the need to protect our children. These responsibilities are always paramount in my mind as I pledge to protect and serve this community. There is always room for improvement in your sheriff’s office and I hope you will use this site to discuss those changes and issues you feel need to be addressed. Please visit this site often to learn more about our campaign and critical issues in the race.

In the coming months, this campaign will lead me to your neighborhood. We’ll share campaign updates with you via this site, Facebook, and Instagram. If you believe in what we are doing, we would appreciate your support through donations, regardless of the size. You can even donate online directly through this site. We will use the donated funds wisely to spread our message throughout the community.

If you have any questions, please email or call and we can set up a time to talk.

Thank you for the visit! Keep believing in our community and the team we put in place to run your Sheriff’s office. Our team will be Ready on Day One!

God Bless,

Tom Caldwell

The Core 4

Public Safety

As the chief law enforcement official in Floyd County, the sheriff is responsible first and foremost to see that the public is protected. If I am elected, this will be paramount in my mind every day on the job.

i

Accreditation Approved Policy

A law enforcement agency is only as strong as the standards to which they conform on a daily basis. Our policy will be reviewed annually and updated accordingly to enhance our performance and professionalism.

Employee Empowerment

We will ensure our employees receive the best training and tools needed to perform their duties. A more prepared and professional employee will ensure that our citizens maintain their rights in our community.

v

Transparency in our Community

We will earn public trust in our community by being transparent at all times about our operations. We will strive to be equally as open about our failures as we are our successes.
